De kogels worden aangedreven met behulp van spindels die passen in de sleuven die in de holle kogels zijn gefreesd, die op hun beurt worden bediend door hendels om de kogels te sluiten en te openen. De meeste kleppen zijn 2-weg en worden handmatig bediend met een hendel; deze hendel is uitgelijnd met de pijp van de kogelkraan wanneer de klep is geopend. Eenmaal gesloten, staat de hendel loodrecht op de buis.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-medium-font-size wp-block-paragraph\" style=\"font-style:normal;font-weight:400\">De flow in de kogelkranen komt simpelweg van de uitgang en ingang van de 2-weg kranen. Handbediende kleppen kunnen snel worden gesloten, wat betekent dat er kans is op waterslag bij snel stromende media. Andere kleppen zijn voorzien van transmissies. 3-weg kogelkranen hebben T- of L-vormige boringen, die de stromingsrichtingen be\u00efnvloeden; dit resulteert in verschillende circuitfuncties, zoals het mengen en verdelen van stromen in verschillende richtingen.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-medium-font-size wp-block-paragraph\" style=\"font-style:normal;font-weight:400\">Als alternatief kunt u automatische kogelkranen gebruiken; deze zijn voorzien van pneumatische of elektrische aandrijvingen. Het is belangrijk op te merken dat grove vaste stoffen de oppervlakken en zittingen van de kogels beschadigen, wat uiteindelijk leidt tot lekkage. Vezelige, gierige en vaste materialen helpen voorkomen dat de ballen sluiten.
