FAQ About Forged Check Valve

Higher Cost: The forging process is more expensive than casting, resulting in higher costs for forged check valves compared to cast valves.

Fluid resistance: Especially for lift-type forged check valves, the passage is relatively narrow, so the pressure drop through the valve is relatively large. This may affect the flow efficiency of the fluid to a certain extent.

Longer Lead Times: Forged valves often have longer manufacturing lead times due to the complexity of the forging process, especially for custom designs valves.

Cast valves and forged valves have their own advantages and disadvantages. Cast valves are suitable for complex shapes and large sizes at lower cost, while forged valves have a denser structure, higher strength and pressure resistance, and are more suitable for harsh environments such as high pressure and high temperature. Therefore, the specific choice depends on the application scenario and performance requirements.

Common types of forged steel check valves include butt weld, threaded and flanged.

  1. Butt-welding type is suitable for high-temperature and high-pressure system, with tight connection, suitable for critical industrial scenarios.
  2. Threaded type is easy to install, suitable for small diameter pipeline, adaptable.
  3. Flange type is easy to install and maintain, and is mostly used in medium and large diameter pipeline systems that require higher sealing performance.
